    Freedive Wire's Recommendation

    1. Different carabiners are available; aluminum or steel.
    2. A steel carabiner is heavier, and will sink faster. If you want to carabiner to freefall above you during a monofin or bi-fin dive, go with steel.
    3. An aluminum carabiner is lighter, and will sink slower. If you want the carabiner behind you, such as in a free immersion with lanyard around the ankle, go with aluminum.
    4. Different lanyard lengths (90 cm or 120 cm) are available. Consider the length based on which discipline you will focus on and your height.
    5. If you're tall and do free immersion with the lanyard around your ankle, go with 120cm. If you're short and focus on constant weight dives, 90cm will be fine.
